Hey Guys, I need to drill through my freezer for the beer/gas lines... Should I drill through the lid? Whats the best way to seal the hole after?

Yeah sorry, I put the freezer under my bar and I have taps mounted to my bar... Similar to Jakes set up.

I would think one of those hole saws for door knobs would be best but ask jake to take a few pics of his to be sure as his works great

I just put a tap on the door of my fridge in the garage and I didn't seal it beyond the gaskets that came with the tap kit. I drilled the hole (hole saw) just big enough for tap shank to fit through. Works great.

Yeah Ill have to see what Jake did... I just assume its safer to drill through the lid than the uppper side.

Ian I will be drilling for hoses, so might be a bit different... Not sure though.. Maybe theres no need to create a better seal

Hey Dan. I just got a half inch drill bit (the OD of the hose) and drilled through the top of the freezer, and reamed it out a bit to widen the hole. The hose is just friction fit, so I think very little cold loss is occuring. Pretty budget way of doing things, but worked fine by my standards

Yeah I suppose that would work, I was picturing a hole large enough for all hoses... So did you drill 7 individual holes? 6 for beer line and 1 for gas?

Yessir. DIfferent way of doing it but works. Where the taps were spread out across the bar, i wanted to put the holes directly below the taps to ensure as little hose as possible was exposed outside the freezer.

Another question Jake... What did you do with your air manifold? Is there any reason why i cant just screw it to the inside of the freezer?
