Hey JQ...build this.

Very cool, basically what I did when I did the "Trub Scrub" with my Hoppy Porter, just at a constant slow pace.  Might just have to look at something like it.
A little surprised the pump can keep the wort flowing with any trub being held back in the Hops Rocket building up pressure.
Interesting for sure.

My guess is that this is being done after cold crashing and trub dump.

Thats my question...when does he start doing this and for how long...is this just his way of dry hopping over several days?

This is based of of Sierra Nevada's technique.  http://www.sierranevada.com/beer/year-r ... -extra-ipa

I imagine you'd do this for several days, or perhaps that kind of time isn't necessary where you would be recirculating. They do say that the beer is cold when they do this.  I'm not sure if they just mean that fermentation temperature, or cold crashed.  It depends on who's reading.

He says it's 68 degrees, and the bottom return line is half filled with sediment...I think it's still fermenting.
He's not under pressure, so the CO2 he talks about is from ferment, not carbonation.
