Just called noble grape and he told me they only had 5/16ID beer line ... I told him that's likely gas line because beer line is either 3/16 or 1/4 inch ... he proceeded to tell me that 5/16 would work just fine if I use 6 feet of beer line
I have 5-6 feet of 1/4 inch at home and that is wayyyy to fast of a pour. 3/16 is really the only option if you're using 5 or 6 feet. I read that you need at least 15 feet of line if you're using 1/4 because it produces less resistence, so I could only imagine how much line you'd need if using 5/16 ... probably 20+ feet
FYI, if you get taps from ontario beer kegs, they give you 1/4 inch ID hose. Never realized this when I got it, until just last week, but it explains why 4 of my taps are having shitty, extremely fast pours ... and they come with 5 feet of line on each. So if you buy from ontario beer kegs, expect to change the lines to either longer 1/4 inch, or 5 or 6 feet of 3/16. ... pours wayyyyyyyyyy too fast.
You could of course reduce your pressure down to 3-4 psi to slow the pours, but that will just produce under-carbed beer ... and I can't do that because 2 of my 6 taps have 3/16, so not enough pressure.
Noble Grape once again providing very solid advice.
