i got the end of my sensor in a bottle of water on the inside...the rest is on the outside attached to the back of my collar.

oh okay, not sure what that is really...

Plan on setting up the freezer with thermostat tomorrow, so might get back to you guys for a quick tutorial!

me either, richard seems to like using smart words..  akimbo

the way i understand it....air temp changes more rapidly than liquid temps....so you want your beer at a certain temp and not the air around it. Best way to replicate it, short of putting the probe into a keg, is to put it into another liquid. When i had mine dangling in the air, my freezer would kick in all the time....now, not so much.

My bad; didn't mean to be so succinct but was on a phone keyboard thing. Jmac's explanation is better; the extra mass of the water provides buffering against temperature fluctuations. Some temperature controllers (such as mine) have a built-in feature to provide this effect.

I don't mind not understanding either... you just let me know what works and I will do it!  :D

I do understand what youre saying with the bottle of water... seems like it would provide a more consistent temperature.

But you need to make sure that your specific temp controller probe is ment to be submerged in water !!!

I dont think your supposed to some people have had them go dead but others have not as lon as you only submerge the metal end VS where it meets the wire I think youll be fine
