Chest Freezer

Hey guys, im looking to get a small chest freezer to hold 4 kegs... Anyone know of any deals? Been checking the re-store and kijiji...

those are both good bets, something will come up, but you may have to wait a few weeks. When I get back to F'ton I'll be looking for a couple of them as well.

Yup; looks like one of the older ones which double as nuclear fallout shelters - I'd grab it.

I actually bought this one a couple hours ago!! 40 bucks, I figure I cant go wrong really... I have a hop dawgs order coming in today with a fridge thermostat... so should be good to go! Any suggestions on what temp I should set the freezer at?

it's really about personal preference, but about 7 degrees C is good for serving most ales, about 2 degrees C for lagers.

Yeah I'm considering jacking my keezer up a few degrees. I had it set to 2C to allow for cold-crashes as well as serving, but I don't like serving beer at 2C. Might have to get a mini-chest for doing the crashes + lagering.

Yeah Im thinking around 5-6 degrees will be good for my freezer. Still A few decent chest freezers up on kijiji Richard.

have you tried to see if your's has the set screw on it? that way if it works, you won't need the other thermostat. Or did you mean you ordered a temperature controller?
