ooooohhhh this sounds interesting.....
-
My kitchen is 42C brewing this!

THere was a guy on brew-bros.com who brewed a popcorn ale pretty much filled the mashtun but quickly shrunk he said it was amazing !!!
-
Thing smelled wonderful coming out the mash tun, not a hint of sulphur or "cooked corn". Very low SRM - looked like diluted lemon juice. Suspect this is a winner :D
-
The popcorn looked like it mostly dissolved... got some pics; will post when I get them off the camera.
edit: so apparently when you add files it's in reverse order... lame.
-
Pics - camera phone, so sucky quality.

interesting ...one of the stranger things I've seen for sure. It's a brave man who holds a cell phone over a pot of boiling goo

I've got this on tap now, and it's not exactly great. No flaws from the process, but the popcorn flavour is rather overpowering. I think if I were to repeat this (and I have no real plans to), I'd drop the popcorn to just 0.5lbs.
I won't be at the next two meetings due to other things getting in the way, but I might send a growler along for you all to marvel at its mediocrity :P
