Spring (Belgian) IPA
« on: April 29, 2012, 10:08:05 AM »
I'll call this a Belgian IPA because I used Abbey Malt and some Noble Hops, but I didn't used Belgian yeast. I don't often make this style

Alcohol by Volume (ABV): 5.50 %
Colour (SRM): 8.0 (EBC): 15.8
Bitterness (IBU): 61.1 (Average)
Brewhouse Efficiency (%): 70
Boil Time (Minutes): 60

Grain Bill
----------------
5.000 kg Canadian 2-Row (83.33%)
1.000 kg Abbey (16.67%)

Hop Bill
----------------
25.0 g Magnum Pellet (12.5% Alpha) @ 60 Minutes (Boil) (1.1 g/L)
25.0 g Centennial Pellet (9.4% Alpha) @ 30 Minutes (Boil) (1.1 g/L)
20.0 g East Kent Golding Leaf (4.7% Alpha) @ 15 Minutes (Boil) (0.9 g/L)
30.0 g Tettnanger Leaf (4% Alpha) @ 1 Minutes (Boil) (1.3 g/L)

Fermented at 68°F with Safale S-05

Haha - it's all relative I suppose...tastes pretty hoppy to me, but my taste buds haven't been hop-desensitized as much as many of you. Look forward to getting some hop head feedback.

Don't let them get to you sdixon!  My last IPA was only 65 IBUs.  I'm sure it'll be delicious, and I can't wait to try it.

Most secretaries are women
Most women like lighter beer
For a secretary, this particular beer, would likely be a hop bomb.
